We measure rotor thickness against manufacturer minimum spec. If the rotor is above minimum and without excessive rust grooves or warpage, pads only is appropriate. We'll show you the measurements.
Every 2–3 years or when moisture contamination exceeds 3%. Brake fluid is hygroscopic — it absorbs moisture from the air, reducing boiling point. Chicago winters accelerate this.
Cold-weather brake squeal from light surface rust on rotors is normal and disappears quickly. If squeal persists after the rotors are warm, pad wear indicators are making contact — time for service.
We diagnose ABS faults and replace ABS components (wheel speed sensors, ABS module). Complex ABS failures that require bleeding special systems may be referred to a specialist.
