Cadillac shares its transmissions entirely with General Motors — the Escalade uses the 6L80 and 8L90, the CTS and ATS use the 6L50, and crossovers use 6T70/6T40 units. All carry the same failure patterns as their Chevrolet and GMC counterparts.

Transmission: 6L80/6L90
Escalade (2006–2019) with 6L80 or 6L90 develops pump slide and rotor wear — same failure as Silverado and Yukon. High-mileage Escalades with tow use are most vulnerable.
Symptoms: Slipping when warm, delayed engagement, P0868 low pressure code, transmission overheating
Transmission: 8L90
2015+ Escalade with 8L90 shares GM's TCC shudder issue — judder at 25–50 mph under light throttle.
Symptoms: Vibration at 25–50 mph, goes away under hard acceleration, worse in hot weather
Transmission: 6L50
CTS V6 and ATS with 6L50 develop valve body solenoid wear causing harsh shifts and P07xx codes.
Symptoms: Harsh shifts under acceleration, delayed engagement from Park, P0750-P0760 codes
Transmission: 6T70
SRX and XT5 with 6T70 develop solenoid failures causing erratic shift timing and check engine codes.
Symptoms: Harsh or delayed upshifts, slipping under load, P0750/P0760 codes, transmission temperature warning

On a 2015+ Escalade with 8L90, TCC shudder is the cause. Not immediately dangerous but progressive — start with Dexron HP fluid exchange. Torque converter replacement if it persists.
