American Luxury With Ford's Transmission DNA β Expert Lincoln transmission service since 1987. All models, all years. Free diagnostic.
Lincoln shares its powertrain entirely with Ford β the Navigator uses the 6R80 and 10R80 just like the F-150, while MKZ and Continental use Ford's 6F55N six-speed transaxle. Lincoln transmission problems are therefore identical to their Ford counterparts, just wearing a premium badge.
Lincoln work is identical to Ford β same parts, same procedures. We stock all Ford/Lincoln rebuild kits.
Years to watch: 2009β2014 MKZ/MKS/MKT with 6F55N (pump wear); 2011β2019 Navigator with 6R80 (solenoid failures); 2017+ Navigator and Aviator with 10R80 (TCC shudder); 2015β2021 MKC/Corsair with 6F35.
Our technicians know these failure modes by heart β we rebuild and repair them every week.
Transmission: 6R80
Navigator, MKT, and older Lincoln trucks use the 6R80 β same solenoid failures as F-150. Shift solenoids fail from fluid degradation causing P0750-P0757.
Symptoms: Harsh 2-3 and 3-4 shifts, delayed engagement, check engine light with P07xx codes, slipping under load
Transmission: 6F55N
MKZ, MKT, and MKS with 6F55N develop pump wear and valve body solenoid failure, causing line pressure issues and erratic shifts.
Symptoms: Slipping shifts when warm, delayed engagement, P0962 low line pressure code, transmission overheating
Transmission: 10R80
Newer Aviator and Navigator with 10R80 share Ford's TCC shudder issue β the same judder at 30β50 mph seen in F-150 and Mustang.
Symptoms: Vibration at 30β50 mph under light throttle, hunting between gears, shudder when maintaining highway speed
Transmission: MKC/Corsair
MKC and Corsair (2015β2021) use the 6F35 six-speed, which develops valve body wear causing harsh shifts and P07xx codes.
Symptoms: Harsh upshifts especially 1-2, hesitation from stop, check engine light

Yes, completely β same 6R80 or 10R80, same parts, same repair procedures. Navigator transmission work costs the same as F-150.
If it's a 2017+ Continental with the 10R80, yes β TCC shudder. Start with Mercon ULV fluid exchange ($149β199). If it persists, torque converter replacement needed.
The same 6R80 rebuild at Chicago Transmission runs $1,800β2,400. We'd encourage you to get a second opinion with us first.
Fluid service: same day. 6F55N solenoid repair: 1β2 days. Full rebuild: 3β4 days.
