The AW55-50SN (2001β2008 S40, V50, S60, V70) develops valve body wear at high mileage, causing erratic shift timing and solenoid codes.
Symptoms: Erratic shifts that vary with temperature, hunting between gears, delayed 2-3 upshift, check engine with multiple P07xx codes
Transmission: Powershift DCT
The Powershift DCT in 2011β2016 S60 and V60 with T5 engine develops dual-clutch pack wear causing shudder and judder at low speeds.
Symptoms: Shudder during slow-speed engagement, jerking when pulling away from stop, vibration at 5-15 mph, hesitation from complete stop

XC60 and XC90 AWD models develop Haldex coupling wear and rear differential fluid contamination causing AWD warning lights and handling changes.
