The RC F uses the AA80E or AB80E 8-speed automatic β a heavy-duty variant used in the IS-F, LC500, and some high-output Toyota/Lexus models. It is different from the AB60F in the RC350/RC300. The AA80E handles significantly more torque and has different service characteristics.
Harsh 1-2 on the RC F is a documented calibration issue addressed by Lexus software updates. The performance-tuned shift programming was revised for smoother street use while maintaining track response. Update is the first repair step.
