The 01M valve body solenoids wear and leak internally, causing shift quality issues and delayed engagement. This is the #1 01M failure.
Symptoms: Harsh or delayed 1-2 upshift, engagement bump from Park, DTC P0752 or P0753
The brake band for 2nd and 4th gear engagement loses adjustment and eventually wears through, causing slip under acceleration.
Symptoms: Slip in 2nd gear, RPM flare under acceleration, DTC P0732
The solenoid wiring connector at the transmission case corrodes, causing intermittent solenoid faults and shift quality problems.
Symptoms: Random shift quality issues, DTC codes appearing and disappearing, rough engagement
01M rebuild replaces all solenoids, brake band, all clutch packs, and all seals. Conductor plate connector is replaced. Correct LT 71141 ATF used. Torque converter is serviced.
VW/Audi-spec ATF (Esso LT 71141 or G 052 025 A2) every 40,000 miles. Do not use Dexron β the 01M is incompatible with standard ATF chemistry. Adjust brake band per VW service schedule.

Esso LT 71141 ATF (VW part G 052 025 A2). This is NOT compatible with Dexron.
