The 41TE solenoid pack (A604 style) is the most common failure β€” virtually all 41TE failures trace to the solenoid pack. The solenoid body houses all shift control in one assembly.

Input Clutch Pack Failure

The input clutch pack controls 2nd and 4th gears. Solenoid-related pressure loss destroys the input clutch first.

Underdrive Clutch Failure

The underdrive clutch controls 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears and is the most loaded clutch in the 41TE.
