The 4L60E (introduced 1993) added electronic shift solenoids, replacing the mechanical TV cable. The 4L60E requires a computer to operate; the 4L60 is fully mechanical.
Many internal parts interchange, but the valve bodies are different β the 4L60E valve body has solenoid bores; the 4L60 has TV passages.
