The 6L80 replaced it in Silverado/Sierra applications starting in 2007. The 6L80 offers 6 gears, better efficiency, and higher torque capacity.
Partially β some internal parts swap, but the input shaft and drum are specific to each unit. A full conversion is not cost-effective; better to rebuild the 4L60E with the best available upgrade parts.
