Intermediate / OD Band Failure

The 5R55E uses two bands β€” intermediate and overdrive. Both are adjustment-sensitive and wear faster than the clutch packs. Contaminated fluid accelerates band material glazing.

Symptoms: Slipping in 2nd or 5th gear; RPM flare on upshift; band adjustment doesn't help

EPC Solenoid

Same Ford EPC pattern β€” solenoid resistance drift causes line pressure loss.

Coast Clutch Drum Bushing Wear

The coast clutch drum bushing wears and allows drum wobble, causing uneven clutch pack wear and eventual failure.
