The 65RFE solenoid pack is the most common failure. Limp mode is the typical symptom.
Symptoms: Limp mode; P0750-series; erratic 5-6 shifts
TCC shudder at highway speed from ATF+4 degradation.
Symptoms: Shudder at 45β65 mph under light throttle
Valve body regulator bore wear causing low pressure codes.
Symptoms: P0868; multiple gear slip; delayed engagement
Solenoid pack replaced. TCC inspected. Valve body rebuilt with new separator plate. All clutch packs replaced. Full ATF+4 soft parts kit.
ATF+4 every 30,000β40,000 miles. The 65RFE is a light-duty 6-speed; the 66RFE and 68RFE are heavier-duty variants.
The 65RFE is for light-duty Hemi gas applications. The 66RFE is a heavier-duty gas variant. The 68RFE is the Cummins diesel variant with the highest torque capacity.
