Same front band adjustment requirement as A904 but under heavier loads. Big-block applications accelerate band wear. Band glazing prevents effective adjustment.
Symptoms: 2nd-gear slip; no response to band adjustment when glazed
The direct clutch (3rd gear) handles all the torque from big-block and Hemi engines. Contaminated or degraded fluid causes direct clutch failure.
Symptoms: No 3rd gear; slip in 3rd under hard acceleration; only 1st and 2nd work
The throttle pressure (TV) valve wears and causes line pressure loss at part throttle.
Symptoms: Soft early shifts; clutch slip under moderate acceleration
Full disassembly. Front and rear bands replaced. Direct clutch pack upgraded with Alto Red Eagle kit for high-torque applications. TV valve polished. Valve body rebuilt. Full Transtec soft parts kit. Converter flushed.
