The DQ500 handles performance and diesel high-torque loads. Clutch wear under repeated hard launches or diesel high-torque acceleration is the primary failure mode.
Symptoms: Clutch shudder, DTC P0810, slipping under hard acceleration, worn clutch disc material
Mechatronic failure from fluid degradation is less common than in DQ250 but still occurs on high-mileage units.

Electromechanical clutch actuators wear in performance applications, causing imprecise clutch engagement.

DQ500 rebuild replaces both clutch packs (high-torque rated), mechatronic unit if failed, clutch actuators if worn, and all seals. G 060 162 A2 fluid used.
VW G 060 162 A2 every 40,000 miles (or 30,000 in diesel/performance applications). The DQ500 is robust for street use but not designed for sustained drag racing or track use without additional cooling.
