The JF010E uses a push-belt or roller chain depending on application. Both fail when NS-2 fluid is not maintained. Chain failure is catastrophic and non-recoverable without full rebuild.
Symptoms: Loss of drive, metallic noise, DTC P0868, vehicle coasts freely in Drive
Primary pulley develops excessive axial play from bearing wear, causing belt path instability.
Symptoms: Whining, vibration, ratio hunting, DTC P0776
Multiple pressure control solenoids in the JF010E valve body wear and stick.
Symptoms: Erratic ratio control, hesitation, fuel economy loss, DTC P0897 or P0898
JF010E CVT rebuild replaces belt/chain set, primary and secondary pulleys, primary bearing, and valve body solenoids. NS-2 fluid used. All seals renewed.
Nissan NS-2 CVT fluid every 30,000 miles. The JF010E is the same mechanical platform as the RE0F06A β it requires NS-2, not NS-3. Verify specification before any fluid service.
They are the same transmission β JF010E is the Jatco designation; RE0F06A is the Nissan designation used in service documentation.

Early Murano CVT (JF010E) has a mixed reputation. Fluid maintenance is critical β failures before 120,000 miles are common when NS-2 is neglected.
