The RE0F08 is among the highest-failure-rate CVTs in the industry. The belt wears rapidly under the Altima 3.5L V6's torque, especially when fluid intervals are exceeded.

The valve body develops internal bypass channels from wear, reducing belt clamping pressure. This accelerates belt slip and wear.
