V8 M56 and QX56 applications place extreme thermal load on the solenoid body. Solenoid failure is the primary failure mode, often requiring full solenoid body replacement.
Symptoms: DTC codes across P0750–P0795 range, limp mode, harsh shifts, MIL illuminated
V8 applications — especially the QX56 with towing — wear the 1st and 2nd gear clutch packs significantly faster than V6 applications.
Symptoms: Slip in 1st or 2nd under hard acceleration, RPM flare, burnt ATF smell
High V8 torque causes TCC failure. GT-R transaxle units (different design) are excluded from this failure mode.

RE7R01A rebuild replaces solenoid body, all clutch packs (upgraded 1st/2nd frictions for V8), torque converter, and all seals. Matic-W fluid is used. All bearings and thrust washers renewed.
