The RE5R05A is Nissan/Infiniti's 5-speed automatic for larger RWD/AWD trucks and SUVs. Common in Pathfinder, Titan, and QX56. It's a robust unit that typically outlasts the 4-cylinder CVT in smaller Nissans. Primary failure points are the control valve body and shift solenoids. We see many Pathfinders and QX56s with this transmission.

Extended fluid intervals degrade the solenoids in the control valve body. All 5 solenoids are in a single assembly.
Symptoms: Harsh shifts, slip, P0750–P0760
TCC failure causes shudder at cruise speed, particularly in Pathfinders.
Symptoms: Shudder at 40–60 mph, P0741
The OD band wears on high-mileage Titans and trucks used for towing.
Symptoms: Slip in OD, no 5th gear
