ZF 8HP: valve body solenoid repair or full rebuild. ZF Lifeguard 8 fluid change is critical maintenance. W5A580: solenoid pack replacement resolves most cases.

The ZF 8HP is an excellent transmission — same unit used in BMW. When maintained with ZF Lifeguard 8 fluid, very reliable.
Likely the ZF 8HP valve body solenoids. Common on units with original or extended-interval fluid. Diagnostic first.
