A transmission flush exchanges 90–95% of your transmission fluid using exchange equipment — vs the 40–50% replaced by a drain-and-fill. We use OEM-specified fluid for your exact transmission and include a 27-point inspection.
"Honest diagnosis, fair price, and the repair was done right. Chicago Transmission has been my go-to for years. Wouldn't trust anyone else with my car."
"The free diagnostic alone was worth the trip. They found the problem fast, gave me a written estimate, and completed the work on time. Exceptional service."
"Family owned and it shows. They treated my car like it was their own. The lifetime warranty on my rebuild gives me total peace of mind. Highly recommend."
Every 30,000–50,000 miles for most vehicles, regardless of whether the fluid looks clean. Most fluid degrades chemically before it darkens visibly. If you tow regularly, do it every 25,000 miles. See our complete fluid change guide.
A flush on a healthy but neglected transmission is fine. A flush is not recommended if the fluid is severely burnt or if the transmission has active slipping or shifting problems — in that case, a drain-and-fill is safer. We inspect first and recommend the appropriate service.
Probably yes. Modern synthetic ATFs are formulated to stay clear even as they degrade chemically. A fluid that looks pink and clean at 80,000 miles may still have lost most of its friction modifiers and oxidation inhibitors. Mileage matters more than color.
