Expert Infiniti QX30 transmission service in Chicago. Free computer diagnostic, lifetime warranty on rebuilds, all years.
2017β2019: 7-speed dual-clutch (7DCT) with 2.0T turbocharged 4-cylinder; FWD or AWD AWD: 4MATIC-style all-wheel drive (based on Mercedes-Benz GLA platform) Production ended 2019 β discontinued in US market Note: QX30 is a rebadged Mercedes-Benz GLA with Infiniti cosmetics; DCT is shared
QX30 7DCT shares Mercedes-Benz GLA drivetrain hardware β diagnosis and repair procedures closely follow Mercedes DCT protocols. Software version check is always first β calibration updates address shudder. DCT fluid replacement with Infiniti/Mercedes-specified DCT fluid resolves contamination-based issues. Physical clutch pack inspection follows if software and fluid work doesn't resolve symptoms. The QX30 is no longer in production, but DCT parts remain available through the shared Mercedes-Benz parts network. Low-speed hesitation in parking is partially inherent to DCT design at very low speeds.
Infiniti/Mercedes-Benz DCT fluid (specific to DCT β do not use standard ATF); approximately 4β5 quarts
Software update: same day; fluid service: same day; DCT clutch pack: 2β3 days; full rebuild: 4β6 days
"Honest diagnosis, fair price, and the repair was done right. Chicago Transmission has been my go-to for years. Wouldn't trust anyone else with my car."
"The free diagnostic alone was worth the trip. They found the problem fast, gave me a written estimate, and completed the work on time. Exceptional service."
"Family owned and it shows. They treated my car like it was their own. The lifetime warranty on my rebuild gives me total peace of mind. Highly recommend."
Mechanically yes β the QX30 is built on the Mercedes-Benz MFA platform and shares the DCT, engine, and AWD system. The QX30 has Infiniti interior and exterior styling over Mercedes mechanicals.
DCTs use dry or wet clutch packs instead of a fluid coupling β they engage mechanically at low speed, which can produce a jerk or judder that a traditional torque converter absorbs more smoothly. Software updates minimize this, but some DCT behavior at very low speed is inherent to the design.
Yes β parts are available through the Mercedes-Benz supply chain since the DCT is shared hardware. We have access to DCT rebuild kits, clutch packs, and solenoids.
With regular fluid changes every 40,000β50,000 miles and avoiding aggressive launch behavior, QX30 DCT units can reach 100,000β120,000+ miles. City driving in Chicago is harder on DCTs than highway use.
It depends on the vehicle's condition and repair scope. A software update or fluid service ($130β200) is always worthwhile. A full DCT rebuild ($2,400β3,400) makes sense if the vehicle is otherwise in excellent condition.
Same-day appointments available. Honest estimates, no surprises. We've been doing this since 1987.
