A860E: check software version for shift hunting; calibration update from Lexus often resolves this. Cold-start delay on A860E is a valve body or accumulator issue β mechanical inspection required. AWD center differential service is separate from main transmission. GS450h hybrid drive unit requires specialized hybrid technician for CVT and electric motor assessment.

The A860E is generally very reliable β the main issues are software-related shift hunting (resolved by updates) and cold-start engagement delay (resolved by valve body service). With proper WS ATF maintenance, A860E units routinely exceed 150,000 miles.
Toyota/Lexus WS (World Standard) ATF β not Dexron VI or older Toyota Type IV. WS ATF is a low-viscosity fluid specifically formulated for the A860E's close-tolerance valve body.
The GS450h uses a hybrid CVT/electric drive system β no traditional multi-speed automatic. It's an electromechanical continuously variable system. Diagnosis and repair requires hybrid-certified technicians with specialized equipment.
Torque converter clutch shudder on Gen 3 A760E models β the lock-up clutch slips under light load. Toyota/Lexus WS ATF or Type IV (depending on generation) flush often helps. Torque converter replacement is the definitive fix if shudder persists.
