JF016E CVT: check extended warranty first. Outside coverage: rebuild or remanufactured replacement. An auxiliary cooler addition is strongly recommended for rebuilt Pathfinder CVTs — the factory cooling is inadequate. RE5R05A: solenoid and band service or rebuild.

The 3.5L V6 Pathfinder with AWD is too much powertrain for the JF016E CVT's thermal capacity. It overheats in Chicago summer stop-and-go traffic.
