It depends on the rate of leakage. A slow seep (a few drops per day) gives you some time — fix it within a few weeks. A heavy leak that drops oil fast is urgent — you risk low oil level damaging the engine, and on manual transmissions, oil contaminating the clutch causes immediate clutch failure.
FWD vehicles without transmission removal: often same-day or next-day. RWD and 4WD vehicles requiring transmission removal: 1–2 business days.
Usually yes — a $600 seal repair is significantly cheaper than a car payment. The exception is if the engine or transmission also has major issues. Free inspection tells you whether the rest of the vehicle warrants the repair.
