Yes β the 8DCT dry dual-clutch engagement judder is a known TLX issue. Software update is first; clutch pack inspection if judder continues.
For day-to-day reliability in Chicago stop-and-go, yes β the torque converter-based ZF 9HP is more forgiving than the dry DCT.
