2008–2014: 6L50 6-speed automatic (3.0L/3.6L V6) or 6L80 (3.6L AWD) 2014–2019: 8L45 8-speed automatic (2.0T or 3.6L) or ZF 8HP70 (CTS-V, 6.2L) 2019+ (CT5 successor): see CT5
6L50/6L80: SRV sleeve repair. 8L45: pump replacement + rebuild. ZF 8HP70: valve body or rebuild. CTS-V applications need more aggressive fluid service intervals due to performance use.

On 2008–2014 CTS with 6L50/6L80, SRV bore wear. On 2014+ with 8L45, pump wear or TCC. Diagnostic first.
More aggressive fluid changes — every 20k miles on an 8L45 CTS-V or ZF 8HP in a CTS-V. Don't skip.
