U660E linear solenoid failure: In many cases we can replace the linear solenoid assembly without a full rebuild ($550–900) — saving significant cost. If valve body damage has occurred from running on a failed solenoid, a full rebuild is required ($1,600–2,100). CVT: fluid service first ($149); if shudder continues, belt and pulley assessment needed.
U660E: Toyota WS ATF — change every 40,000 miles (Toyota says 'lifetime' — ignore this in Chicago conditions) CVT: Toyota CVT fluid — must change every 30,000 miles

On the U660E, this is usually the linear solenoid assembly. We can replace it without a full rebuild in most cases — $550–900. Get a diagnostic first.
Toyota's powertrain warranty is 5yr/60k miles. If you're within coverage, the dealer should repair it. Outside coverage, we see CVT belt wear as the cause — often related to skipped fluid service.
