2004–2010: 5-speed automatic (U151E) on 3.3L and 3.5L V6. 2011–2020: 6-speed automatic (U660E) on 3.5L V6. 2021–2024: e-CVT hybrid only (no non-hybrid option from 2021 onward). AWD models: Sienna AWD (2004–2020) uses rear-wheel electric coupling.
Sienna carries heavy family loads — third-row passengers, gear, and often trailer hitches — making fluid maintenance critical. On AWD Sienna, that warning indicates the rear coupling is losing function. Not catastrophic if caught early, but failure leaves you without AWD in Chicago winters. Get a diagnostic.
