2007β2016: 6-speed automatic (6T70) on 3.6L V6 (FWD/AWD). 2017β2024: 6-speed automatic (6T30 on 2.5L; 6T40/6T45 on 2.5L FWD). 2017β2024: 9-speed automatic (9T50) on 3.6L V6. AWD models include a rear-wheel coupling (AWD disconnect system on newer models).
The 6T70 in Acadia is a proven unit that develops predictable failure modes. Solenoid failures can often be repaired without a full rebuild. When pump wear is present (slipping when warm), full rebuild is necessary. The 9T50 nine-speed is a newer unit β harshness issues are often software first, then mechanical.
6T70 and 6T40/6T45 use Dexron VI. 9T50 uses Dexron HP. Change every 45,000 miles.
6T70 solenoid: 1β2 days. 6T70 rebuild: 2β3 days. 9T50 rebuild: 3β4 days.

On a 2007β2016 Acadia with 6T70, harsh 1-2 shifts are almost always solenoid A or B failure. Often repairable without a rebuild ($450β700).
