CVT7: we source a remanufactured unit or rebuild the existing one with new belt, pulleys, and bearings ($1,800 - 2,600 depending on parts availability). Aisin AF21: valve body repair if solenoid damage is limited ($650 - 1,100); full rebuild if clutch pack damage is found ($1,800 - 2,400). ZF units: valve body repair ($900 - 1,400) or full rebuild with new solenoids and friction clutches ($2,600 - 3,400).
CVT7: MINI-spec CVT fluid - change every 30,000 miles.
Aisin AF21: Toyota/Aisin ATF WS - change every 40,000 miles.
ZF 6HP/8HP: ZF Lifeguard 6 or Lifeguard 8 - change every 40,000 miles. "Lifetime" is a marketing term, not a service interval.

No. "Lifetime" refers to the warranty period, not the life of the car. We recommend fluid changes every 40,000 miles on all MINI automatics. Skipping fluid changes is the leading cause of early solenoid and valve body failure.
Yes - torque converter clutch (TCC) shudder at cruise is a known symptom of solenoid wear or fluid breakdown on the ZF units used in F-generation Clubmans. A fluid service often resolves early-stage shudder; a valve body inspection confirms severity.
Both options exist. We can rebuild the CVT7 with a new steel belt and pulleys if the housing and pump are serviceable. Replacement with a remanufactured unit is often faster and carries a stronger warranty. We'll give you an honest recommendation after inspection.
