All Murano generations use Jatco CVTs with known failure rates. Extended fluid service intervals are the #1 cause. Change NS-3 every 30k miles.
Likely the primary pulley bearing — a CVT failure mode. Get it diagnosed before the bearing fails completely and sends metal through the unit.
Know what you're getting into — budget for potential CVT service. A Murano with documented CVT fluid changes is much safer than one without.
