545RFE solenoid packs are a known wear item — we replace the full pack and valve body separator plate. 8HP units are serviced with ZF LifeGuardFluid 8 and OEM filter; torque converter replacement resolves persistent shudder. Full rebuilds include updated solenoids, clutch packs, and pump bushings.

Almost always torque converter shudder on the 8HP. Start with a fluid and filter service using genuine ZF fluid — this resolves it in roughly 70% of cases. If shudder persists, the torque converter needs replacement.
Every 40,000–50,000 miles with ZF LifeGuardFluid 8. RAM marks it 'lifetime' but that's optimistic for a working truck — especially if you tow.
