Expert Lincoln MKS transmission service in Chicago. Free computer diagnostic, lifetime warranty on rebuilds, all years.
2009β2016: 6-speed SelectShift automatic (6F55) front-wheel drive or AWD; 3.5L V6 or 3.5L EcoBoost EcoBoost (2009β2016): 6F55 higher-torque calibration; 355 hp AWD: PTU + rear drive unit setup identical to MKT Production ended 2016 β replaced by Continental
MKS 6F55 service is identical to MKT EcoBoost β same transmission, same issues, same repair path. Mercon LV fluid verification first. Solenoid pack testing with Ford IDS. Torque converter shudder test under highway cruise. PTU seal inspection. For EcoBoost MKS, we often recommend adding an aftermarket auxiliary cooler after rebuild to prevent recurrence. All rebuilds include updated solenoid pack and Mercon LV flush.
Ford Mercon LV ATF, approximately 9 quarts; PTU: Ford XT-9-QMC; RDU: Ford-specified gear oil
Fluid service: same day; solenoid pack: 1β2 days; torque converter: 2β3 days; PTU seal: 1 day; full rebuild: 4β6 days

Yes β the MKS is the Lincoln version of the Ford Taurus and shares the D4 platform. The 6F55 transmission is identical, as is the AWD system on equipped models.
The EcoBoost's 355 hp generates heat that can overwhelm the factory cooler during extended highway use. Dark or burnt Mercon LV ATF is a warning sign. We recommend a full fluid flush and cooler capacity evaluation β an auxiliary cooler may be appropriate for your driving pattern.
If the powertrain is otherwise sound, yes. The MKS is a comfortable full-size sedan and a rebuilt 6F55 is a proven unit. We offer a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty on all rebuilds.
P0750, P0753, P0755, P0757, P0760 β these indicate individual shift solenoid performance or circuit faults. In many cases, replacing the solenoid pack as a unit is more cost-effective than individual solenoids.
Regular Mercon LV fluid changes every 40,000 miles, avoiding extended towing near maximum capacity, and addressing any warning codes immediately. The 6F55 is durable when maintained but degrades quickly with neglected service.
Same-day appointments available. Honest estimates, no surprises. We've been doing this since 1987.
